Are we diverting ourselves with positivity?

“Optimism is realism for the optimist and pessimism is realism for the pessimist”, is my personal quote and one I still agree with.

And after reading the headline you might ask me what’s wrong with being positive all the time? It is the same reason why you should not drink alcohol/ consume drugs when you are depressed. DENIAL.

If you choose to see a positive perspective on all things in life, it is the greatest skill you can acquire. But if you are using positivity and spirituality just to lie to yourself about a horrible fact about yourself/ life/ situation you are in, it is as dangerous as using substances to suppress your feeling.

Positivity is a great tool unless you do not use it to bury the truth. Because that what you are trying to suppress will manifest deep into your psyche. The same truth which you are trying to avoid will keep coming back to you as a different person, a different relationship or a different event.

Do not grab on to a positive quote or a spiritual book as a coping mechanism when you are in a horrible situation. Do not make-believe. Why? Because it never goes away. Try to go to the heart of the problem. The solution to that situation will unfold.

What do you think about this? Is there anything more you’d like me to write about? Comment below 🙂
