How Yoga helps in reducing Stress and Anxiety

Updated: Oct 9, 2021

Due to the daily hustle and bustle of our lives, we are constantly in a state of excitement and stress. We are so accustomed to being in this mode, that we hardly are aware of how it’s impacting us negatively. To explain it in medical terms – our sympathetic nervous system is always overactive. And the mode of being constantly stress and excited is so rampant, that we hardly think that this is the main problem which needs to be addressed.

But, we have to face the consequences of being stressed and anxious all the time. Most of our gut related issues like acidity, bloating, constipation, diarrhoea and even issues like high BP, diabetes have been linked to stress and anxiety.

Yoga not only takes you off the roller coaster of being stressed and anxious, but also activates the parasympathetic system responsible for our rest, digest and reproduce mode. Being in this mode not only makes you calm but also makes you happy.

The balance between parasympathetic and sympathetic system is essential for having a balance in our body, mind and emotions and Yoga is one of the holistic way to experience that.
