Yesterday was an exceptionally special women’s day for me, I was a part of a group of 21 teachers who taught Yoga to women commuters in train. This initiative was organised by Ruchita Shah from Heal-Station.
The Train Yoga group
We got onto the station at Borivali and got down at Bombay Central. In our commute, a group of 4 – 5 people covered 3 compartments(Borivali to Andheri, Andheri to Bandra, Bandra to BCT) each so were able to make everyone in that particular ladies special train, get a glimpse of how it feels like to do Yoga.
Initially, I was apprehensive, thinking how would we be able to convince all women to practice and would they even do Yoga. But to my surprise, almost all the women in the train were doing these practices and following us.
After getting down at Bombay Central, we also conducted small workshops for the Western Railway Staff.
I was happy that, as a group, we must have easily reached about 200 people on Woman’s Day.
Time for some food. Delicious Thali from Samrat Hotel.
Oh yes, we were covered by various newspapers, have a glimpse of our journey on Midday – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBK3HCrObpU
